Class Descriptions

Two Hearts Studio has traditional yoga classes where students explore the practice of chanting, pranayama and meditation, and the study of yoga philosophy.

Class levels: Two Hearts Studio offers a variety of class levels to meet students' needs. Instructors will assess the ability of a student to participate in a class and will recommend an appropriate alternative class level if needed.

Basics/Level 1 Yoga: The poses in Basics/Level 1 classes build a solid foundation of stability, strength, flexibility. This class is ideal for those new to yoga or returning to yoga after a long break. The class includes all of the basic standing poses, hip openers, forward bends, gentle backbends and twists.

Gentle Yoga: The focus is on relaxation, stress reduction, and light stretching. This class is for the student who wishes to move at a slower pace. It includes breathing exercises and meditation. This practice will include standing, balancing, seated poses and twists. Students should be able to get up and down to the floor independently. This is a great class for all students including beginners.

Mixed Level: This class is for all levels of yoga students. A dynamic class of yoga to uplift everyone’s day. Modifications to poses that challenge and support the ability of the student are offered.

Restorative Yoga: Also titled, Gentle Stretch & Relax. Appropriate for anyone desiring a very gentle class. Designed to balance fast paced lifestyles with deep physical, mental and emotional relaxation using the aid of props, breathing practices and guided meditations to allow the body to experience passive stretching and renewal.
Yoga Level 1-2: This class builds on the student’s knowledge of yoga poses and introduces the practice of breath work, chanting and meditation.
Yoga Level 2: A deeper awareness of the basic poses is created as confidence and endurance both grow. This level of class explores more challenging poses and incorporates preparation for arm balances, inversions and backbends. This class encourages you to grow in your yoga practice in a safe and supportive environment.
Yoga Level 3: This class is for experienced students who have a dedicated yoga practice. Participants in the class can kick up into handstand at the wall and push up into backbend in the center of the room. Arm balances, inversions, and advanced options for basic poses are included.
Yoga with Philosophy: Mixed Level: This class blends precise, biomechanical alignment techniques with empowering and spiritually uplifting virtues that support a total mind, body and heart experience. This transformational yoga is more than a “yoga workout”. Leave each class calm and inspired to live the best version of yourself.

Yoga for Healthy Joints: This method of yoga aims at restoring healthy joint mobility in a safe and gentle way, while also enhancing body awareness and perception. You will find improved circulation, vitality, and enhanced mobility.

Yoga Fusion: Flowing Yoga plus strength exercises for your shoulders, core, back, and buttocks. Breathwork, meditation and relaxation end your Best Day Ever.

Classic Rock Stretch: Increase range of motion without compromising strength and resiliency. This class is designed to move students toward more flexibility though specific stretches for different muscle groups and aim toward a whole body feeling of ease.
