As an instructor, Jane brings a flare for enthusiasm tempered with patience and kindness. Her passion is the study of yoga, health and fitness which shines through in her teaching as she skillfully guides students on their yoga journey. She began instructing health and fitness classes in 1984 and yoga in 1998. She is certified as both an Anusara and an Ashaya Yoga teacher with over 3,000 hours of training. In addition, she is a Yoga Alliance registered teacher at the E-RYT 500 level.
Jane teaches Anusara Yoga. Anusara is a Sanskrit word that means, “flowing with grace”, this style of yoga blends precise, biomechanical alignment techniques with empowering and spiritually uplifting heart virtues that help support the student off the yoga mat in everyday life. Anusara Yoga promotes harmony of body, mind, and spirit with a focus on “looking for the good” in ourselves and each other. Jane’s primary teachers have been Anusara founder John Friend, Ashaya® Founder Todd Norian, Charly Pivert, Desiree Rumbaugh, Noah Maze, Martin Kirk and Darren Rhodes. As a seasoned professional Jane has an experienced knowledge of the body, a humble attitude and a willingness to serve her students. She draws on her educational background with a Masters degree in Health and a minor in Studies in Aging. She continually enriches her insightfulness through a dedicated self study program of meditation and reading on topics of yoga philosophy, anatomy, biomechanics, and the art of teaching.
Jane is also a certified personal trainer and teaches private lessons in fitness, pilates reformer and yoga.
